Excellent and powerful words, Dave. Thank you for reminding all of us of President Kennedy’s challenge to ask ourselves what we can do for our country.
I join you 1000% in keeping Trump and the disgraceful Republican Party out of the White House and Congress.
May there be some ethical Republicans who will help preserve our democracy.
Thank you, Dave. A watershed moment. A choice between “Positive patriotism and negative nationalism”, as Yuval Noah Harari put it. Two extreme stances, sadly.
This is, indeed, a watershed moment - with big implications not just for the US but for the world. I certainly see Trump as extreme-right, but not so with Harris and Walz on the left. The political landscape in the US has moved so far to the right over the past several decades that current Democratic policies that would have been considered moderate Eisenhower Republican policies in the 1950s are now called extreme-left by Republicans.
I questioned if I wanted to be so blunt with this post, but I believe that these times call on us to dig deep and speak our truth. If it can touch one person to vote for democracy, or Vote for Nature, as Jane Goodall is encouraging voters to do, then it needed to be said.

Thanks Jo. Kennedy's call to service was so 1960s, but we need it just as much now.

hear hear and hear ye hear ye! Good one, Dave. How can something so obvious remain so dangerous?
Thanks Evan. Your question is spot on - it is truly mind-boggling.
Thank you for speaking out so eloquently, Dave!
